Report :
Saturday morning at 11:30 the startsignal of another round of Tien Gemeten was given.About
175 catamarans where present for this popular sailing race. The race started at a slow
breeze force 2-3SE
start was upwind with a little advantage for starboard starters. Result was a big group of
early starters, in
the upwind leg there was a lot of short tactic tackings under the shore. The leg to the
island "Tien Gemeten"
took about 2-2,5 hours of sailing. The first 15 boats rounding the island mark were a
dominator(self made)
cat, the light weather A-cats, Tornado's and Nacra inter20. The Downwind leg back to
Hellevoetsluis was
nice spinaker leg bringing nice competition. First finisher was the Dominator sailed by
Piet Heemskerk

COMPLEET RESULTS COMING SOON!!
Coming up starting 1999 : Next year I will give special attention to the biggest class in the
Netherlands,
the Formula 18 Class. The F18 class is a 18 feet cat with a spinaker. There are
different builders but the
concept is strictly the same, all builders building conform class rules and discriptions.
This resulted in a class
with high competition level. Hobie Tiger, Nacra Inter18 and Dart Hawk are the most popular
F18 Boats at
this moment. See the picture page.
